The KVBID board of directors developed a first-year operating budget of roughly $780,000 that focuses on two major caretaking initiatives: 'clean and safe.' What services and improvements will be provided?

• 54% of the budget is earmarked for enhanced public space management and security
• 36% will be allocated to streetscape cleaning and maintenance
• 10% will fund administration and management, audited financials, insurance and other operating expenses

Improvements will be immediate. Professional Information and Safety Officers will work in tandem with Hawaii County Police to eliminate criminal behavior. Streetscape maintenance crews will enhance existing County-provided services with sidewalk cleaning, graffiti removal, trash pick-up and recycling.
