Mission

Our mission - to make Kailua Village a better place to invest, work, live and play - will allow us to work cooperatively to improve and maintain the physical appearance and aesthetics of public right of ways, open space and parks, increase cleanliness and security, and attract business activity.

Our first-year goal is to implement 'clean and safe' initiatives. Our initiatives and vision will expand once we attend to basic pressing needs. Future initiatives will likely include items such as landscaping, lighting, streetscape furnishings, public signage and marketing.

Outreach efforts to communicate our purpose and activities have been in full swing since 2006 through speaking engagements, newspaper coverage, Chamber newsletter and e-news distribution, and personal one-on-one meetings. We shared our KVBID message with business and civic organizations, such as Rotary and Destination Kona Coast , and kept the community informed via a monthly column in the Chamber newsletter (which also appeared in West Hawaii Today).
